I'm on Bluesky now too and will abandon my Twiter account soon. I feel slightly better that I'm on Bluesky, but also feel like I need to feed another social media beast (Twitter, Threads, subeddits, various Discord groups, Substack notes). That's not sustainable or enjoyable. Also, I'm not sure what the Bluesky business model is going to be and if it will be around in a couple years. My plan is to focus on creating content (my Substack and game projects). When I release new content, I'll let folks know through various socials, but the conversation will be on Substack. Making "stuff" is what makes me happy and is what is most interesting to others (as measured by engagement metrics). Substack is better suited for that.

Funny, cause Bluesky seems so marketing-focused, but it's the one platform that seems LEAST equipped to do effective business (bad analytics, no monetization features, etc).

I gotta say, Substack Notes and the YouTube Community feature aren't that nice as feeds, but they really seem to do the same things that Bluesky already does is trying to do. Except in Substack/YouTube, I can do micro-blogging where I'm already doing my publishing.

God, is it just FOMO at this point?

I have been on Mastodon for a bit. Learning the ropes. I think it will be about critical mass. Have any of you Mastodon? https://mas.to/@mobilehugh

As a fan of Pig, you have my interest right away. And tarot-based worldbuilding sounds like one of the best uses of tarot. I wasn't overwhelmed by my first glance at how HMTW seemed to use tarot for this, but the truth is that I haven't really tried it, and I probably will love it when I do

In regard to Bluesky, it really, really looks very commercial to me, from the little I've seen, even more than Threads. And I've had the most interesting conversations about TTRPGs on Mastodon, on dice.camp, outside of Discord.

Tarot-based worldbuilding is a bit interesting to me! I've spent a lot of time with the tarot in my personal life, and one thing Tarot is sorta "about" is archetype, fable, and symbolism. It just jumps out at me that, if you look at the major arcana, the first thing I think of is either a divine pantheon, or a sorta "divine council" of the aspects of God or some such thing. So I figure if I'm gonna use tarot, I'll start there!
